Spend First On

• Pokemon that work in both beginner and meta teams.
• Common support roles such as speed control or defensive pivots.
• Items that appear across several builds.

Delay Spending On

• One-matchup counters.
• Builds that require many rare pieces.
• Picks that depend on one unverified team list or old regulation.

Check Before Spending

1. Find the Pokemon in the Pokédex.
2. Check whether its type, Ability, stats, and moves fill a missing team role.
3. Add it temporarily in Team Builder.
4. Spend only after the new slot removes a real weakness or improves a clear battle plan.

“Strong” is not enough. A useful recruit should have a job on more than one team or solve a problem you meet repeatedly.
